JCI offers its members the chance to gain knowledge, experience and practice in both public speaking and debating. These skills are transferable to your personal and professional life.
Across the year and during Spring Conference JCI Ireland runs Public Speaking and Debating training and competitions. Training is delivered by experienced and inspirational speakers and often by World Champions! We also like to throw in some Extempore unexpectedly, so our members are always ready!
Theoretical training, practice sessions, as well as actual competitions on both Public Speaking and Debating give JCI members the opportunity to learn how to express themselves and persuade others, how to think on their feet and enhance their ability to think and act strategically.
In 2017, JCI Ireland will host their first Debating Academy off the back of our success as World Champion Debaters in 2016. More details to follow, but pencil in the 9th and 10th of September.

Aside from the competitions; branches provide members with multiple opportunities to practice and hone their public speaking skills. Whether its starting by introducing yourself and what you want to get from a training, to introducing a trainer to a small audience or even giving a speech as Local President the opportunities are endless and gradual with plenty of peer support to encourage you on your journey.
