The Irish Know How Transfer (KHT) is a knowledge exchange programme between young active citizens in their 20’s and 30’s and the politicians of our National Houses of Parliament. The KHT transfer will set the stage to connect politics with the civil society, exchange ideas, and foster collaborative action for sustainable impact.
The challenges facing 21 st century societies are complex and multifaceted. Challenges like youth unemployment, the refugee crisis, corruption and poverty transcend boundaries, cultures and classes. They touch all sectors of society and have the capacity to affect all stakeholders of a national, regional and local community. Therefore the challenges of today require the collaboration of all sectors and stakeholders affected in formulating sustainable solutions. As we continue to understand and try to address these challenges, the cooperation between businesses, politics and the civil society will continue to be imperative. Communication between politics and the civil sector is far from optimal. One way of creating stronger partnerships between young active citizens and local, regional and national politicians is through the Know-How Transfer (KHT).
